The MHSAA is proud to introduce a new award called the PLAYERS CHOICE AWARD, sponsored by the Manitoba Milk Producers. This award was developed by the MHSAA's Athlete Committee as a way for participating athletes to award one of their peers.

The purpose of this award is to recognize players who contributed positively to their team and the sport of basketball. This player should be representative of the following qualities:
- Must be a participating player in the Provincial High School Basketball Championships
- Display leadership qualities
- Exemplify tenacity and dedication to their team
- Exemplify a positive attitude towards officials, teammates and opponents
- Must be an all around "good guy" or "good girl"
- Must be a role model for others
(A reminder that this award is not necessarily based on athletic skills, but rather on the preceding criteria).

Captains are to vote for one of your team members as well as four players from other teams. (Note that the boys vote for the boys and the girls vote for the girls). Please print names and schools of each candidate as well as your own in the appropriate spaces. All ballots must be faxed to ERIN NICOLAJSEN at CARMAN COLLEGIATE (204-745-6288) BEFORE THE SEMI FINALS BEGIN. The PLAYERS CHOICE RECIPIENT will receive a certificate commemorating their achievement.
