South Tobacco Creek Project
The Educational Project
The educational project provides the opportunity to convey the South Tobacco Creek Project concept and objectives to students. Students participate in field investigations identifying positive and negative aspects of agricultural and urban activities on water quality. This investigation takes place at the Twin Watershed Site and includes a tour and demonstration of the water monitoring equipment.

Comments from Students

Chrissy Cruikshank - Grade 10: Having this Project set up in the middle of farmland where water actually travels, gives a tremendous boost toward the goal of the Project. Project gives information about something usually unnoticed.

Brad Falk - Grade 10: Other kids should see this so everyone can help protect the environment. People should understand why Farmers are practicing the practices they are. They need to know Farmers care about the environment.

Angie Cleutinx - Grade 10: Helps Kids realize that Farmers are not the only ones that contribute to the problem of pollution.

Pam Giesbrecht - Grade 10: (Its) An educational project, directed to all ages. It gives Kids a good understanding of soil and water management.

Daniel Steppler - Grade 10: I think this was a good educational field trip, that taught us how to use soil wisely.

Gillian Maddison - Grade 10: I didn't realize how without proper management of water, it gets polluted and gross. This project can show people a lot about how, if we don't conserve our water ( by way of trying to keep chemical. nutrients and silt out) we will end up with undrinkable, unusable water.

Dale Knox - Grade 10: Today's lesson taught me many things that I didn't know and I work with this stuff every day. What we do has a huge effect on our environment. edu2 pictue is coming

Sandy Docking - Grade 10: I think this project is so important because there are so many people who really don't know anything about water, especially city people. These people also have an equal part in it, along with Farmers and Town People. We learned that it is extremely important for all farmers, towns and cities to start better water management.
